Become an an Ada’s List patron
Ada’s List launched 7 years ago this week. On Ada Lovelace Day, of course.
Born out of the systemic inequities the founders were seeing develop and being perpetuated in the tech industry, Ada’s List started life as an email list to help connect women who worked in technology.
And now we have 8,000 members from all over the world, companies launched, mentor/mentee relationships blossomed, co-founders found, countless serendipitous connections, 5 Conferences — none of it possible without each of you.
We have hired 2 people and partner with 3 others frequently since then, which has meant we can continue to grow our community and have a positive impact on the tech industry. As you’d assume having employees of Ada’s List costs money (after all, no woman should have to work for free!).
2021: Where do we want to go next
Double, triple, quadruple down on what makes us unique (and great!):
- A global community, yet still approachable, friendly and supportive
- We’re non-hierarchical
- We’re de-centralized
- Generous with our time, support, and attention to one another
#gettinghired
- Support our members’ progression in their careers by identifying more employers across the UK and globally
Ada’s Act
- Our rapid response team of supportive, helpful, ready to reply campaigners
We are launching a pay what you can, membership program
We want to stay independent and so to this end we are introducing a paid membership model hosted on Patreon — where members can receive additional benefits by pledging their support to Ada’s List.
If you’ve been supported by, mentored, mentored by, found a co-founder or friend, or launched a business because of Ada’s List — this is for you.
Ada’s List as you know it will remain free, but paying members will have additional benefits — from discounts to shout outs — throughout the year.
If you feel like you want to pay that back and forward so others can do it
We’re asking for your support so we can keep that ✨ alive.
Membership tiers
As a professional network, we’ve created tiers on a sliding scale based on where our members are in their careers.
Our pledge
Rest assured: we will remain independent. We’re not looking for venture funding. We don’t want to be in a position where we need permission from someone else to exist. We’d like to remain as we are, but with the possibility to sustain, grow and enrich our community together and, for that, we need your help.
What can you expect?
✨ All of that stuff we’ve just spoken about, It means we can focus on it.
✨ It means there will be more opportunities for you to have a say in the future of Ada’s List.
✨ We have a goal — once we hit that goal, we can hire additional community managers and launch new programmes of support
✨ It means we can host (most) events for free throughout
the year
Ultimately, it means we can stay independent.
Why Patreon?
We ❤ our allies: this allows us to engage allies in a constructive and engaged way
We want Ada’s List to be accessible: Allows us to have multiple tiers of support based on what you can afford
